Collage takes a fundamentally different approach to AI. Rather than functioning as a standalone assistant, Collage is an integrated teaching and learning platform built around pedagogical frameworks such as backward design and cognitive load theory. It identifies individual student knowledge gaps through a red-yellow-green mastery model and supports partial credit across multiple valid solution paths, so personalization is grounded in how each student is actually performing. The result is a learning environment that strengthens student preparation and measurably improves learning outcomes.
Educators and institutions often want to know exactly how their course content is handled. Your course content is used to produce lessons and assessments but is not used to train the AI model. Institution and instructor data is separated at the database level, so materials are not shared across institutions or exposed to unrelated educators.
Institutions evaluating Collage often need to satisfy formal security, procurement, and accessibility review before moving forward. Collage maintains current HECVAT and VPAT assessments, available upon request, so your IT, security, and accessibility teams can complete their review without delay. We are also currently undergoing a full SOC 2 Type II audit to verify operational effectiveness over an extended monitoring period.
Collage integrates with major learning management systems, including Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, and Blackboard, using the LTI standard, and grades can be synced back to the LMS gradebook at the activity level, so instructors choose exactly which assessments transfer. For institutions without a supported LMS, Collage also runs as a standalone platform, so LMS integration is a convenience, not a requirement.
Educators often worry that uploading course materials means giving up ownership of their work. The intellectual property rights of materials you input into Collage do not change: if you own the content you upload, you continue to own it. In doing so, you grant Collage a license to use those materials to generate educational content and assessments for your course. You also own the AI-generated outputs, so long as you do not use them for commercial purposes.
