At Collage, we believe that trust and partnership are the foundations of every great learning experience. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data security, privacy, and accessibility to ensure our platform is a safe, inclusive environment for everyone.

Data Privacy & Security
We believe your data belongs to you. Our security practices are designed to protect your institution’s intellectual property and student data without compromise.

Institutional-Grade Security
We implement rigorous administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information.

Privacy by Design
We operate with strict data minimization principles. We do not use your course content, student data, or interactions to train generalized third-party AI models.

FERPA Compliance
We support institutions in meeting their FERPA obligations. Our DPA enables institutions to designate Collage as a school official under FERPA and establishes appropriate restrictions on the use and disclosure of student education records.
Accessibility
We are dedicated to providing an inclusive learning experience that meets the needs of diverse learners.

Commitment to WCAG 2.1 AA
Our platform is developed in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards, ensuring compatibility with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and various assistive technologies.

Designed for Everyone
We prioritize responsive design and clear, logical site structures to ensure that menus, forms, and educational content are easy to navigate for all users.

Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process. We regularly audit our tools to ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of students and educators alike.

As a Public Benefit Corporation, Collage is legally bound to protect its social and educational mission, prioritizing the public good alongside financial sustainability.
Collage takes a fundamentally different approach to AI. Rather than functioning as a standalone assistant or point solution, Collage is an integrated teaching and learning platform designed around evidence-based pedagogy and the real-world workflows of faculty and students. By combining pedagogical best practices with thoughtfully integrated AI, Collage helps faculty create more engaging, personalized learning experiences. The result is a learning environment that strengthens student preparation, enhances classroom interactions, and measurably improves learning outcomes.
Your course content is used to produce lessons and assessments but is not used to train the AI model. Institution and instructor data is separated at the database level so that materials are not shared across institutions or exposed to unrelated faculty.
Collage is currently undergoing an independent audit to verify operational effectiveness over an extended monitoring period to achieve SOC 2 compliance. We maintain current HECVAT and VPAT assessments to support higher-education procurement, security, and accessibility reviews.
Collage uses the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard to connect to learning management systems, including Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, and Blackboard. Grades can be synced back to the LMS gradebook, and instructors choose which assessments or assignments to sync. Grade transfer is managed at the activity level rather than applied automatically to everything. Collage can also be used as a standalone platform.
The intellectual property rights of materials that you input into the Collage do not change. In other words, if you own the content you upload to the platform, you continue to be the owner of it. In doing so, however, you are giving Collage license to use those materials to generate educational content and assessments for your course. You are then fully permitted to use the AI-generated outputs for your students, so long as it is not for commercial purposes.
We maintain current HECVAT and VPAT assessments to support higher-education procurement and security reviews and can make them available upon request.
